Went out croon’n some tunes tonight for my nieces 21st birthday. She wanted to sing karaoke at the Moose Lodge. What?! How many 21 year olds do you know that want to go to the Moose Lodge to celebrate their birthday?! I’ve not met one until today…. And if I’m being honest, I didn’t think the Moose Lodge was a real place! I kept thinking I was going to the Water Buffalo Lodge to meet Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble! Nope – Moose Lodge is a real place that has some really good singers. Now, what was I going to sing?….. Hmmmmmmm🤔
I always sing Rockin’ With the Rhythm of the Rain by the Judds with my mom and, of course, she put us in for that one. That went over well with the crowd (which was a much older crowd). I think my go-to karaoke song for that establishment would be Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrew Sisters. And, yes, that song went over extremely well! Both of my daughters were there and we sang a few ABBA songs that everyone really liked. One guy told us he was hoping we would sing Dancing Queen, which we did, and he loved. All in all – fun night!
My family and I can hold our own, and a tune when it comes to karaoke. That’s the thing with karaoke. You never know who’s singing, what they’re singing and if your ears are going to bleed or not! Now, I’m off to take headache medicine!
