T.O.E. is “term of endearment”, not toe as in your tootsies.
Have you ever “not” called your significant other a certain T.O.E. because you called your ex the same thing? Mr. FP specifically said he would not call me babe or baby because that is what he called his ex and it made him think of her. I didn’t understand his way of thinking. I get not calling me her actual name but T.O.E.s are just that…. affectionate nicknames. Was he not going to go to certain establishments with me because he went with her? It seemed ridiculous but I had the mindset that my mother didn’t name me babe or baby at birth…I was perfectly fine with Tracy. I think he would have lost his mind if I said I wouldn’t call him a T.O.E. that I previously called my ex. He always liked to stipulate the rules for our relationship but he definitely did not abide by those rules. He eventually started calling me “Grazel” as my eyes are hazel but have more green to them.
Other T.O.E.s I’ve been called by others:
Tracella – Just like Cinderella because I’d always say “Do da sweep’n and da mopp’n” every time she asked me to help clean, etc.
Honey Bear – My first husband called me this…no idea why.
Coop – Just about everyone in the military and lots of my previous coworkers
