Guess who goes to the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium in almost 100 degree heat? This girl! One of my besties flew into town to celebrate my daughter’s 23d birthday and going to the aquarium is one of her favorite things to do. So, what else can you do? Just so we’re all on the same page – I will not, have not and do not see it happening in the forseeable future – be the recipient of the “Mom of the Year” award..but, I put on my big girl, sweat resistant panties, and went to the zoo.

I was not the only moron who took her kid (although she’s an adult kid) to the zoo – SURPRISE! There were tons of people with their sweaty, screaming kids! Good times, good times…yeah, right! My friend and daughters did not stay outside in the zoo area. We made a 🐝 -line (see what I did there) for the aquarium. The faster I could get to the air conditioning the better. My skin does not like the sun. I do not tan. It’s straight burn for this girl. I’m a delicate flower!!! The aquarium was small but still provided a great experience. The AC was exceptional!
Before leaving the zoo, my daughter wanted to go to “Stingray Bay”. This is a “touch” pool where you can touch the stingray as they swim by. I had to walk around the pool and stop multiple times to try and get an opportunity to touch the stingray. It didn’t work. So, my friend said, “You have to do the Bert and Ernie.” WTF?!?!? I didn’t know what he was talking about until he did it…in the perfect Ernie voice! I couldn’t stop laughing but I did it!

The results!
Never underestimate the power of Bert and Ernie, Sesame Street, the heat affecting your brain or what having your bestie around will do for you! Oh, I forget to tell you – they don’t make sweat resistant panties! The chafing is real!!! The more you know!
xoxo,
Tracy
