Online dating. Nope! Just Duck, Duck, Goose!

Let’s talk about online dating…. also known as…a really messed up game of Duck, Duck, Goose!

Now, I’ve experienced online dating but it has been several years. Even then, maneuvering that world and all of the deceitful individuals left a ton to be desired. I was shocked, although I’m really not sure why, that the deceitful nature of individuals has gotten worse.

My last online experience was in California. I spoke to this man via text for a little over a week when we decided to meet. During these texts I found out he was looking for a relationship but wanted to take things slow…he was not looking for a hook up. Good to know….ok. We went out a few times. I traveled quite a bit for work at the time and this individual became extremely paranoid/jealous. He made up things that I was doing. I wasn’t doing any of the things he claimed, like flirting with the bartenders at the hotels I stayed in….so I just laughed. Anyways, one night I thought I’d look him up on his social media accounts….. He had told me that he was going back to his hometown to see family for a bit….. but, upon finding his Instagram account, he was actually going on vacation, to a tropical place, with his girlfriend! And…here’s the kicker…when I confronted him (by confronting I mean I just asked him if he had a good time) he got mad at me! He asked me how I found out and was I spying on him! Ha!!!!! So, there ended my world of online dating. No, thank you!

But, I was bummed to hear ridiculousness is still alive and well in the land of online dating…. That nowadays women are telling men how much money they need a month to get their hair and nails done! These women actually expect men to give them money for this?!?!? And – who are the men doing this?!?!? When putting what you’re looking for in a significant other, do you now have to put your income?! I’m pretty sure you do on some sites. This hurts my head. People are lieing left and right on dating sites….It’s so very sad. It really is like a messed up game of Duck, Duck, Goose. You go through profiles and say no or swipe and when you finally find someone you have an interest in you run around in circles until they find someone else to chase. I’m not saying this happens to everyone….just a very high percentage. I’ll play Duck, Duck, Goose…..but, I’ll play the game where I get to smack the head and run far, far away!

Until next time…xoxo

Tracy
