I’m in Washington DC visiting my two best friends and yesterday I did some sight-seeing. I went to the Arlington National Cemetery and was able to see the eternal flame where President John F. Kennedy is laid to rest along with his wife Jacqueline.

I also went to the Tomb of the Unknown soldier and was able to witness the changing of the guard.

Everything about the visit was impactful. Seeing all of the headstones, knowing all of them were military members, was very moving. It got my friend and I wondering what the requirements are to be interred there. I looked up the requirements and realized, I could be interred at Arlington National Cemetery if I so desire. Talk about impactful. I’m very proud to be a retired military member but I’m also very proud to share a special heritage with all those who have served.

Until next time…xoxo
Tracy
