I’ve recently returned from my trip to Ireland….annnnnnndddddd – I have lots of notes! First – Ireland is amazingly beautiful and I did not want to leave! The people, the landscape, the food – I loved every minute of it! I can even say the weather was great as we only got rain the last day we were there. I was able to see and experience quite a bit but I have to return for more!

Galway – you did not disappoint! My favorite town on this trip! I loved the vibe, the restaurants – The Front Door Pub, Dough Bros Pizza and my introduction to Murphy’s Ice Cream (Gin and Chocolate Whiskey ice cream – yes, please)! The main street in town center – my bestie and I will be back to eat and drink our way up/down this street!

Killarney – another fave! I actually had my birthday dinner in Killarney town center at a wonderful restaurant, Salvadors and Robertinos. The pasta is homemade and absolutely delicious! I had the ravioli del plin and actually went back before I left Killarney it was that good! We went to Killarney National Park, where we saw the Muckross House and Gardens. The house and land around the house is absolutely stunning. They do horse-drawn carriage rides there and I felt like I was on the set of Bridgerton. I just needed someone to say, “Yes, my lady.” I think I need this in my life on the daily!

Kerry – The Gap of Dunloe! This was a beautiful sight! Lots of plush, green, dramatic landscape. We drove some of the Ring of Kerry and also went to the Ladies View. The roads were extremely narrow but the random sheep walking those narrow roads were added fun!

Dublin – I mean, C’mon! Jameson and Guiness! I will say that I preferred the Jameson Distillery Tour better than the Guiness Tour as it was a very small group, our guide, Robbie, was extremely personable, knowledgeable and funny! The Guiness Tour is self-guided, you get stuck reading around everyone…just a ton of people. I did learn a lot and LOVED getting a STOUTie with my bestie and my girls! The Irish Rock and Roll Museum was something unexpected. Tons of information and quite a bit to see on the tour! If you love U2, this tour is for you!

The Cliffs of Moher – I don’t think there are enough adjectives to describe this. It was very windy and a bit chilly but just stunning. This place will make you question a higher power if you are in doubt. Something this majestic isn’t there by chance. I don’t believe it is, anyway.

Ireland as a whole – The healthcare is fabulous! My daughter had a cold there so we went to the pharmacy. The individuals that helped us were fantastic – and the cost, practically NOTHING compared to the states. The fences that are made with stone and brush – much more appealing than the fences in the states. The busking on the streets – some of them were fantastic, some of them need to have better friends that will tell them they should not be singing (but good on them for getting out there!) Circle Ks everywhere. The Tayto Crisps – yummy! But Sarah, an employee at one of the Circle Ks steered us wrong when she told us the Prawn flavored crisps were delicious! She was INCORRECT! Ugh! Oh – and I did kiss the Blarney Stone! All in all, I loved my trip and I will be back for you Ireland….just not the prawn crisps! But – let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your newly acquired Cheez-itz! Woo Hoo!

Until next time…xoxo
Tracy
