Traveling Veteran Coordinator – Who knew?!

Who knew?!?!

🚨 Veteran PSA! 🚨

Apparently, there’s such a thing as a Traveling Veteran Coordinator.

Sadly, they won’t help you find the cheapest flights, the best beach, or the strongest margarita. They’re even more useful than that.

…

Excuse me?

I’ve been a veteran for years, moved halfway across the country, AND I WORKED AT THE VA…

…and this little nugget of information never crossed my radar. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

When I moved from Kansas City to Florida, I was connected with a Traveling Veteran Coordinator, and I have to give credit where credit is due—they were incredible. They helped coordinate my care, answered my questions, and made the transition so much smoother.

Meanwhile, my travel checklist looked like this:
✔️ Medications – enough to survive a zombie apocalypse
✔️ Phone charger
✔️ Compression socks
✔️ Snacks
✔️ Enough caffeine to survive I-75
✔️ Three emotional support playlists

What it should have included:
✔️ Call the VA and ask for a Traveling Veteran Coordinator.

So if you’re relocating, taking an extended trip, or spending time away from your home VA, do yourself a favor and ask if they can connect you with one.

And if you’re sitting there thinking, “How have I never heard of this?”

Don’t worry…

I literally worked there, and I didn’t know either. 😆

I don’t know if this service was the VA’s best-kept secret or if I somehow missed that meeting…but either way, now YOU know.

You’re welcome.

Until next time…xoxo,

— Your Veteran Tracegian 🇺🇸
